3-5-09: Night p. 99-109 (B Days)

Today we turned in Night p.99-109 questions and Writer's Notebook #7, so if you missed class get those in ASAP!

We started off the day with our punctual piece:

Answer both questions: (at least 3 sentences for each question).
-What causes do you strongly believe in? Connect with? Want to learn more about?
-If you could get a message across to a large group of people, who would those people be? What would your message be?

Then we took a reading quiz on p.99-109.

Next we read talked through the punctual piece and proceeded to read "The Perils of Indifference," Elie Wiesel's speech he delivered when he received the Nobel Peace Prize. We discussed how Wiesel's cause is to fight indifference and to encourage individuals to stand up for what is right and fight against genocide. This is something that Elie has devoted his life to, and is something he is passionate about.

Next we again thought about what we are passionate about, and selected two topics for research we will be starting next week. Then we formed questions about those two topics on the Topic->Question Assignment. (If you missed class, make sure you make this up right away!) If you are still having a hard time thinking of a topic, check out these topic ideas.

For Tuesday:
1. ALL Missing Assignments!
