3-31-09: Resume Writing (A Days)

Today we began with our punctual piece. Yes, it was more vocabulary! I want you to have lots of possibilities for words and roots to use in your MG (multi-genre paper).
Here are the definitions of the words for today:

dyna (Greek) = power
dynamo--(noun) a forceful, energetic, productive person
dynamite--(noun) a powerful explosive made using nitroglycerin; anything potentially dangerous
dynasty--(noun) a succession of rulers who are members fo the same family; the period during which a certain family reigns

fid (Latin) = faith
fidelity--(noun) faithfulness; loyalty
confidence--(noun) firm belief; trust; reliance--beleif in one's own

Next we completed Peer Review for our Newspaper Articles. If you missed class, you'll have to make it up on your own.

Then we talked about Resume Writing. Within Resume Writing we read some information on Parallelism and completed some practice exercises. You'll need to make this up if you missed class. Then we talked through the Resume assignment sheet and you had the rest of class to complete the planning sheet and draft of your resume. The draft must be in class next time (Thursday) for Peer Review!

For Thursday:
1. Draft of Resume IN CLASS!
2. Bring outside reading book
