3-26-09: Work Day (B Days)

Your Book for outside reading was due today! Remember it can be anything you want as long as it is an actual novel and it is over 100 pages.

Today we began with our punctual piece. Yes, it was more vocabulary! I want you to have lots of possibilities for words and roots to use in your MG (multi-genre paper).
Here are the definitions of the words for today:

dyna (Greek) = power
dynamo--(noun) a forceful, energetic, productive person
dynamite--(noun) a powerful explosive made using nitroglycerin; anything potentially dangerous
dynasty--(noun) a succession of rulers who are members fo the same family; the period during which a certain family reigns

fid (Latin) = faith
fidelity--(noun) faithfulness; loyalty
confidence--(noun) firm belief; trust; reliance--beleif in one's own abilities
confidante--(noun) a person trusted with secrets or private matters

Then you had the rest of the time to finish up Peer Review for both PowerPoint and Newspaper articles. You also had time to work on your Your Choice Genres. In B2 we were able to go to the Writing Lab. B3 and B4 will go next week. Go get everything ready so you just have to type it up!

For Monday:
1. Get caught up on all research stuff you're behind in!
